WHAT IS YOGA?
Yoga is much more than working out or meditating. It is about developing your personality, as this is the foundation of our perception and our actions.
The eight-limbed path of the Ashtanga Yoga tradition describes our behaviour towards our fellow beings and our environment. The ‘yamas’ (not- steeling) and ‘niyamas’ (truthfulness’) should be followed on this path. Our actions (Karma) form the basis of everything that happens in our lives.
We are all conditioned by past behavioural and thinking patterns and think and act in a certain way. Through yoga we can learn how to control our mind and create space for new thoughts and actions.
„There was a monkey, restless by his own nature, as all monkeys are. As if that was not enough someone made him drink freely of wine, so that he became even more restless. Then a scorpion stung him. When a Scorpion stings a man, he jumps about for a whole day; so the poor monkey found his condition worse than ever. To complete his misery a demon entered into him. What language can describe the uncontrollable restlessness of that monkey?
The human mind is like that monkey, incessantly active by its own nature. Then it becomes drunk with the wine of desire, thus increasing its turbulence. After that desire took possession, comes the sting of the scorpion of jealousy at the success of others, and last of all the demon of pride enters the mind, making it think itself of all importance.

Yoga is breathing, feeling, moving, and being one!
The first thing and the last thing we do in our life is to breathe. Staying in tune with our breath is necessary as it is the source of our life energy. Let your movements follow the flow of your breath.
Through conscious control of our breath we will learn to reconnect and fuel our bodies and minds with energy. Our breath generates a flow between dynamic and soft motions, stable and flexible mind.
It is important to be concentrated and conscious, but the most important in yoga is to be happy ;)!
A posture strong as a mountain- an attitude soft as wate
It is about learning and exploring your body and mind. Feeling the energy of your being and of the group. I want to bring Yoga in everyday life. Guiding you thereby well and individual. It is not important how practiced you are.
All classes are mixed level, taught in English or German, depending on the group.
My classes are for beginners and for advanced students. Some classes are gentle, ideally for beginners and students that prefer it soft and slow. Other classes are more challenging. There is always something for everybody. I like the group to grow together, having a stable and personal class.
In summer the courses are usually in the park (see news).
Yoga with Saniye
My Yoga Classes take place throughout the week and designed to experience the pleasure in movement, finding peace and relaxation. I practice with mindfulness, both flowing sequences as well as powerful attitudes and develop inner and outer stability and flexibility. Meditation, breathing exercises, sound and massage complete our practice and lead us into deep relaxation and silence.
Life-practical topics are linked to yogic philosophy that supports you in your personal development. This is the basis of our perception and the resulting actions.
Private Yoga Lessons
Private lessons are individual sessions with me, custom-tailored to your physical level and wishes for your practice. They are designed and personalized just for your needs!
Private Group Lessons
Private group lessons are small group classes arranged for a group of friends or for a business group, tailored to the group ability and goals.
The advantages of private classes
The private study offers you full personal attention and are ideal for:
- Students with busy schedules
- People with special wishes and needs: injuries / illness
- Prenatal practice
The individual classes can be a gift to you, a friend, a group or to celebrate a special occasion!
The yoga classes can take place at your home, at the office, or in a yoga studio I arrange. The sessions are 75 to 90 minutes.
